The Sales Training Company offers a consultancy service to organisations providing expertise on the design and implementation of sales systems and sales methodologies. In addition training, coaching and mentoring can be provided for sales managers and their sales teams.

The Sales Training Company founder, Julia Sherwood, brings a rare blend of hands-on sales skills and tertiary achievement to her sales and sales management training.

The result is 'real world' training which has upskilled and inspired the sales teams of leading Australasian companies.

About us

The Sales Training Company was established, in 1993, on the basis of Julia Sherwood's own sales skills – earned during a highly-successful career in the travel, paper and advertising industries in Europe and Australasia.

In the time since, Julia has used her experience and knowledge to help hundreds of salespeople improve their sales success. What's more, her interest in training has led her to consistently improve her own knowledge of current trends in training and development through ongoing study.

Julia holds a BA in Psychology and Education, a Diploma in Corporate Management and is currently studying for a Masterate Degree in Adult Education.

“As a student myself, I'm really empathetic to the people I train who are just getting back into the habit of learning, often after a long time away from study. These days there is a requirement for lifelong learning to stay competitive in any field - particularly in sales and marketing where a competitive edge can mean the difference between winning and losing a sale.”

Hands-on experience

Julia Sherwood's sales career began by selling excursions to tourists, while working as a tour guide in Europe.

Later, she sold paper to the printing industry and then worked for Capital Radio, in London. In both those roles she won trips 'down under' for her outstanding sales performance - and after the second trip she decided to stay. 

Here in New Zealand, Julia became the Group Sales and Marketing Manager of a large media group, with responsibility for the training and development of the sales team, then was appointed General Manager of a national media company.
